How to Purchase an NFT
A step-by-step guide on buying your first NFT.
Create a new Wallet
Assuming you don't have one, select "Yes, let's get set up!" to create your first wallet.
Store your Secret Recovery Phrase
Write down your Secret Recovery Phrase to ensure you don't lose access to your holdings in this wallet. NEVER share this phrase. Anyone with this phrase can take all of your holdings from this wallet forever.
Deposit Ether
Purchase Ether from Metamask by clicking "Buy" and using Wyre (debit card, $1000 max) or Transak (bank transfer, $500 max). Alternatively, use Coinbase to purchase Ether in larger quantities and send to your Metamask wallet.
Visit OpenSea
Visit OpenSea, the largest secondary NFT marketplace to go shopping. The link here is for our PixelBeasts collection. You can see which one's are available for purchase by filtering for "Buy Now", and filter by Beast Type (eg. fox, rabbit), or Attributes (eg. sunglasses, party hat) to find one that you like.
Connect Your Wallet
Once you've selected an NFT to purchase, click "Buy" and connect your Metamask wallet when prompted.
Sign with Metamask
Metamask works by using pop-ups to have you sign transaction confirmations. Expect to see this for every transaction that gets recorded on the blockchain.
Note the Gas Fee
Gas fees are transaction fees on the Ethereum blockchain. Gas fees vary based on network usage (i.e. time of day). FYI - Recently, under $150 seems like a good deal, though you can occasionally find it below $100 in the late hours of the night. For those curious, the Ethereum community is eagerly awaiting for Ethereum 2.0 where we expect gas fees to dramatically go down.
Find it in your wallet!
Go to your OpenSea profile to see your NFT! Now, you're ready to see all the things you can do with your PixelBeast here
